Kinesio Pre-cut Wrist Application is designed to support common wrist problems - repetitive motion, carpal tunnel or recovery from muscle strain. Each tape application can be worn for 2-3 days, 24 hours a day. It is hypoallergenic, made from 100% cotton and latex free. It is also water-resistant, so you can shower, bathe and swim whilst wearing it. You can also continue with your activities or training, as Kinesio Pre-cut allows for full range of motion, supporting the muscle yet not restricting movement. Follow our step by step guide for applying wrist pre-cut below:
1. Begin by taking the I-strip (beige or blue in the pack) and cut using the guides on the backing to adjust length if necessary. Take one of the I-strips and cut it in half by cutting along the line on the backing which indicates "tear paper here". The second I-strip can be used for additional wrist support if necessary. It will also need to be cut in half.
2. Apply the I-strip by first tearing the backing where indicated. Then, with the wrist in a flexed position (fingers pointed down), apply the end of the tape to the back of the hand above the knuckles. Continue applying the tape along the top of the arm with no stretch.
3. Take one half of the shorter blue (or black in some packs) I-strip and tear the backing across the center of the tape. Remove the backing in both directions to expose the middle of the tape. Apply the centre of the tape to the top of the wrist then remove the backing as you wrap the tape around either side of the wrist with slight to no stretch. Use the second half of the tape and repeat the above instructions except place the centre of the tape to the bottom of the wrist.
Minor sprains and strains usually respond to ice, rest and over-the-counter medication too. If pain and swelling lasts longer than a few days, or become worse, we recommend seeking the advice of a trained Kinesio Practitioner or your GP.Pre-cut packs can be purchased online: www.kinesiotaping.co.uk, Amazon, Ebay and selected retailers. Colours in the pack may vary - instructions included.
