A group of 15 intrepid cyclists will be cycling 320 miles from Hampshire to Paris from 24th - 28th June 2015 to raise funds for their chosen charity, BASICS.
The cyclists will be very easy to spot as they're being supported through their gruelling ride by Kinesio UK and all their tender areas will be covered in our bright blue and pink tape.
One of the organisers and participants is physiotherapist Andrew Mitchell who runs Bracknell Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Clinic in Berkshire. He says: "We're grateful for the support of the best therapeutic tape out there! Kinesio will be a great asset in the recovery and injury rehab of all the cyclists. With these distances, at roughly 80 miles a day, we're likely to get sore and tight muscles, postural problems and possibly pulled muscles. Kinesio will alleviate any aches, pains and swelling associated with these conditions and will keep everyone moving as painlessly and as well as possible."
BASICS is a Hampshire-based immediate care team that sends volunteer doctors to serious accidents in the Hampshire area. They recently saved a local cycling team member's life after a car crash in which he suffered a traumatic brain injury. The fire service, land and air ambulances were on scene, but the casualty believes the key difference was a BASICS doctor who was able to operate on scene and make sure he survived to hospital.
The cycling team, mainly from Hermitage and surrounding areas, consists of men and women from late 20s to mid-50s. They have been training since February with a series of long distance cycle rides every weekend. They are also supported by their local pub where they will start and finish, and have been raising funds via charity events here.
Managing Director of Kinesio UK, Kevin Anderson says: "Long distance cyclists swear by Kinesio and the riders to Paris will find our tape in the team kitbag invaluable in the face of inevitable aches and pains en route. We're proud to be associated with this valiant and energetic fund raising effort and wish Andrew's team every success."
