Earlier in the year we introduced Claire as one of our newest Kinesio Ambassadors. In what was a whirlwind 2015, Claire took gold at the first attempt in during her maiden ITU World Sprint Championships in Adelaide, Australia for GB in the 25-29 age group and, less than a year later, it is now an achievement she has managed to surpass.
Competing for the first time at the standard distance for Great Britain, Claire had to overcome the Spanish heat and local favourites to take the win which she accomplished in a time of 02:19:06. In a day of firsts, Claire competed in the 30-34 Female AG race which saw a strong cycling segment pull her away from Spanish competitor Tenreiro Alvarez Beatriz to take the gold by 1:47.

Success in Aviles is not the first time Claire has delivered a pe

rformance when it has counted. Following early qualification to both the major duathlon Championships she brought home a bronze at the ITU European championships back in April in Kalkar, Germany.
It's an astonishing story for someone who only started her Duathlon career 18 months ago and a true testament to hard work and self belief. We're certain that there is a lot more to come from Claire Steels.
