Kinesio Taping gets thumbs up from world's most expensive Rugby player!

Kinesio have taped up another big sporting name.

Sam, 24, is England's all time top try scorer and it was announced last month that he has broken all transfer records in Rugby League by signing for the New Zealand Warriors from Wigan. He is also expected to be the star of the forthcoming Rugby League World Cup which kicks off on 26th October when England take on Australia at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Sam was introduced to Kinesio taping by England Rugby League Head physiotherapist Nathan Mill who taped him up with blue Kinesio after Sam suffered a tear of the patella tendon at the back end of the season.

Sam says: "It was a painful injury and I was initially very sceptical to see Nathan cutting this bright blue stretchy taping into special shapes for my knee."

"In the past I've never been a fan of strapping or taping because it always felt heavy and restricted my movement both on and off the pitch but Kinesio felt totally different. It supported my knee but was light and comfortable too and I was able to move around freely. I could keep it in place for quite a few days at a time, as well as shower, train and swim with it on.

"Because it was helping the pain and supporting my knee the injury healed faster than expected. I continued to wear blue Kinesio through the last four games of the season and also during a couple of England games and wouldn't hesitate to use it again."

Managing Director of Kinesio UK, Kevin Anderson says: "We pride ourselves on helping the best sports talent in the world and Sam joining Kinesio is another coup for us, We're hoping that Sam doesn't need to wear Kinesio during the World Cup, but if he does, we can almost guarantee it will be in his favourite Kinesio colour blue and we can fully guarantee it will help him!"

As a 19-year-old in 2008, Sam became the first player in the sport's history to score five tries on his first team debut for Wigan and has since scored 144 tries in 150 appearances for the club.

It was fairytale final season for Sam at Wigan after they did the double - winning the Super League Grand Final last weekend (5 October) and claiming the Challenge Cup in August.

Sam has joined the England training camp in South Africa this week to prepare for the Rugby League World Cup and he moves to New Zealand at the end of the year ready to take on his next challenge on the other side of the world.
